Her work is affordable, starting with little prices ($12), and so nicely designed and made! Water colour Artists

Hello !

Today I'd like to share with you more photography. As I told you before, I spent some time on holiday in Italy last May, in a beautiful region called "Cinque Terre". These are actually 5 villages founded by fishermen a while ago, which you can only access by train, boat or by foot. No road, basically!

I had there a beautiful weather, a great light, just the best light conditions for photos!

I spent one day in Portovenere which is a city a bit further East from the Cinque Terre. A very nice city with a fortress built with grey stones. They were lots of tourists, all taking the same pictures (and I'm one of them! ). But then I saw this group of Japanese artists who stayed in this position for few hours, painting this building in watercolour. Their work was really looking nice and neat. I liked this idea of taking less "souvenir" picture, and just focus on having one nice, personal. This requires talent yes, but mostly work.

I don't say that I'll start painting, no, I'm really not good at it! But I'll keep my "old fashion" roll cameras. It's a great exercise, not to think that "random" will eventually give you one nice picture in middle of hundreds of pictures, but spend time and focus to one single shot. Put everything in place, build your picture and then press the button. And discover weeks later that your work did actually produce what you were expecting!

One year!

Electre has been with us for a year now!

It still surprises me how playful she can be! And how her hunting instincts are developed... Even though she mostly hunts flies! :)

Featured Etsy Artist of the Day: Saidos da Concha

Constança is a Portuguese girl who loves to sew and make beautiful things.

She has been making bags, bibs, coasters, purse organisers, tissue holders, aprons and other sewn goods for some years. She sells some on her Etsy Shop. You can also contact her for customer order!

She is also very interested in interior design and she is now decorating her new lovely brick house in rural England. I guess that changing from Portuguese weather to the English one must be some sort of a shock! ;)

You can follow her work on her blog which has beautiful photos!

Here is a sample from some of the products you can find in her shop!

This is so cool!

While browsing the net, I discovered some of Luke Jerram work. I first saw his wedding ring: a ring that can work as a projector and can show in any light condition 4 couple photographies. How cool is that?

But wait, there is more! His engagement ring!! He actually has engraved his proposal onto a silver ring!!! So at anytime (with the adequate equipment though!), she can listen again and again to his love message!!

Ok, I'm being very cheesy and all of that. But isn't that cool? Clever, original, romantic and cool!

Check out also his Black Cloud.

Fabric Addict

Hi!

Time for me to share with you another addiction: fabrics! It has started the day I learnt sewing and got my first sewing machine. It was about 5 years ago. I have to confess that I buy more fabric than I can actually sew. I have lots of projects in my head, but not enough time to make them all!!! But I'm working on this...

I wanted to share with you a simple zip purse that I made last weekend. I used colourful and contrasting fabrics.

Before the Jump

I love Photography. I love waiting for the right instant where the picture will stay in mind. It seems like I have something with "jumps". Maybe because photography allows you to stop the motion when the human is in the air, like flying. Maybe also because of this rish of fear before jumping, when you try to figure out if it's safe or not, measure the pros and the cons, and then decide to do it!

I took the photo on top in Italy, in the Cinque Terre, around 6-7pm in May 2010. I enjoy the light of late afternoon on the beach, especially in Italy.

I took the photo below in Berlin, last summer.

Knit Addict!

lo !

I thought that you'd maybe like to know what I'm doing in my spare time, apart from making jewels and photography... Well... Let's say I have lots of hobbies. Mainly craft. I can't spend one day without making something: either create a jewel, sew a cloth or bag, knit, embroidery...

So today, I'll share with you my current knitting project: a jumper made of linen. Striped fabric is the big hit of this summer, so I chose 2 different yarn colours. Not sure I'll have finished my jumper by the end of summer though... :/ Needle size is 5mm. The pattern comes from La Droguerie. This shop is very famous in France. It's like our local kingdom of heaven for knitters, jewel makers...

Featured Etsy Artist of the Day: Everybody Else

Hi!

Today, I'd like to introduce you to Melody. Melody is a 27 year old graphic designer and illustrator for a tiny publishing company in the heart of Amish-land.

By night she is a coffee addicted illustrator, drawing the stories she sees in her head and printing them on kromekote for our enjoyment.

I really like Melody's art, who seems to find her inspiration into comics and childhood. In her Etsy shop, she sells prints of her work, as well as blank cards and ACEO. If you're looking at adding a nice decoration to your kid's room or your crafting studio, Melody's work will probably be perfect! And hey! Good news! Melody can also create custom illustration! (worth considering if you're expecting a baby, or looking for making customized wedding invitations...)

Still working on improving the layout

Hi!
I'm doing some changes on this blog, trying to make it look "cosy". This blog should become my second home, so I want it to be welcoming!

As you may have noticed now on the right, you can see some of my products which are on sale in my shop. I'd like this applet to chose the newest jewels from my shop. It seems like it instead shows the "featured ones"... Never mind... I'll try to change this!

By then, I invite you at visiting my "Love in Pink" treasury where I've featured some lovely "createurs". Check it for yourself!
